A picture of Karen racing her MR2 has been chosen for the April page of the 2007 International MR2 Owners Club - UK Region calendar. The rest of the calendar features great images of all the various other MR2 variants and will brighten up any desk next year!

Here's a picture of Karen's husband Richard busy swapping brake pads at a practice event at Mallory Park. Whilst Karen only has to concentrate on staying on the black stuff during qualifying and the races, her support crew usually consisting of Richard, Darren and David do everything else required to keep things that way!
The MR2 Challenge contains a varied bunch of people from those with Arrive and Drive deals, to the mechanic/racer who fettles his own car. To all those that have to deal with the nitty-gritty of preparing or repairing their cars, we wish you luck over the winter and look forward to swapping tales of sheared bolts, scraped knuckles and frozen nuts!

...Prevents particularly poor performance. (Or something like that!).
There are quite a few modifications planned for Karen's race car over the winter and to facilitate these her husband has been busy preparing the garage. Richard has built a workbench from discarded fence posts and kitchen worktop and it will soon be equipped with a vice. The workbench will probably need bolting to the walls just to make sure it can cope with the abuse it will receive whilst being used to fettle the race car's suspension ready for the MR2C in 2007.
Other modifications planned include some new distributor parts and a session on a rolling road to fine tune the timing and fuelling. This should maximise the power available from the engine as it stands. Hopefully this will solve the apparent lack of straight line speed that Karen's been complaining about.
Racing drivers, eh?
